Popular places on a Kolkata day tour
Most visitors start with the Victoria Memorial and the Maidan, then drive to the Howrah Bridge and the flower market on the riverside. Other favourites are Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Belur Math across the river, Kalighat Temple, the Marble Palace, Jorasanko Thakurbari and the Indian Museum. Shoppers add New Market and College Street, and families often finish at Science City or Eco Park.
Sample plans
For one day, pair places that are close together, for example Victoria Memorial, St. Paul's Cathedral and Park Street in the morning, and Dakshineswar and Belur Math in the afternoon. For two days, add Kalighat, the north Kolkata heritage lanes and a river or sunset stop. We will help you build a plan around your interests.
Good to know
Museums and temples have their own opening hours and weekly closing days, so check before you fix the day. We can suggest a route that avoids closed places. Early starts beat the traffic and the heat.
